We’ve said it earlier, will say it again. Although our puppies share our homes, our hearts and sometimes our food too, it’s absolutely cruel to think they can share our shampoos. Here’s why-
1) Ingredients : A dog shampoo has specific/several ingredients that rejuvenate, cleanse, sooth or purify one’s dog’s skin. While human ingredients have chemicals/detergents that are harmful for them.
2) pH Scale balancing: Human skin has a pH of around 5.5 to 5.6 while dog skin has a higher pH between 6.2 and 7.4 making it way more neutral. Hence even the mildest human baby shampoo can result in a pH imbalance in doggos.
3) Skin thickness,: Human skin is composed of 10 to 15 layers while dogs have 3 to 5 which makes them sensitive to common cleaning agents.
Using a human shampoo thus makes your fur baby’s coat all dry and itchy. It causes a lot of irritation and hairfall. So you should always make sure you have a good dog shampoo for your furball
